Welcome to Begbies Traynor Group Southampton – previously CVR Global. We are a group of licensed insolvency practitioners and business turnaround experts helping companies in Southampton with both rescue and closure options.
Our Southampton office is staffed by a talented team of business rescue, recovery, and turnaround professionals, and we are here to assist directors, shareholders, and sole traders with all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency.
If you are experiencing difficulties with ever-tightening cash flow, escalating financial liabilities, or if you fear your company could soon be insolvent, taking advice at the earliest signs of distress is vital. Although it is a difficult step to take, the sooner professional advice is sought the more options will be open to you and your company.
Our objective is simple – to deliver clear and actionable advice to distressed business owners in an efficient and effective manner. While it may seem as though your situation is beyond help, there are often many solutions available to you that you may not be aware of. These include:
- Entering into formal negotiations with creditors by way of a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) which can lower your monthly repayments to a manageable and sustainable level
- Placing the company into administration which can help save the most profitable elements of the business and allow trade to continue
- Negotiating a Time to Pay (TTP) arrangement with HMRC to bring tax arrears up to date over an agreed period of time.
Should the company’s problems have taken it beyond the point of rescue, we will talk you through the options available and ensure it is brought to an orderly shutdown and any outstanding creditors are dealt with appropriately and in accordance with the Insolvency Act 1986.
As well as assisting during times of insolvency and corporate financial distress, our team also offer a comprehensive range of additional services including forensic accounting and pensions advisory depending on the needs of your company.
Our Southampton office is just one of our locations on the South Coast, with supporting offices in Portsmouth and Bournemouth.
A Members’ Voluntary Liquidation (MVL) is a formal company closure process for solvent companies. Although liquidation is often associated with insolvent companies, this route is designed for healthy, cash-rich businesses with a substantial amount of retained profits. The MVL process consists of distributing funds in a cost-efficient manner to shareholders, and if eligible, you may be able to access Business Asset Disposal Relief, formerly known as Entrepreneurs’ Relief. If you can settle liabilities within 12 months and your business consists of £25,000 or more in retained earnings, an MVL may be the route forward.
